We wrote “I get a kick out of you” in the trays, name of one of Juan´s favorite songs. And in every mason jar -in which we offered cucumber water with mint and hibiscus water-, we put labels with “Gracias a la vida que me ha dado tanto”, another of his preferred songs.
Since Juan´s favorite color is Green, I chose my turquoise/Greenish tables, combined with french style chair, Golden charges and clear glassware with Golden rim. As centerpieces, flowers in the same color palette, mostly hydrangea, tulips, eucalyptus, succulent and foliage.
While we were setting everything up for Juan´s arrival to the surprise party, his granddaughter –super cute-, helped us write the guests´ names in every place card…
For dinner Chef Casiano Reyes served an exquisite “mariscada”, which included lobster tail, shrimp, snapper, scallops and sashimi! And in the menu we incorporated the “just the monkeys and the treetops in paradise for two” song, which Juan sings to her grandchildren. The final touch was the starfish in top of the napkin.
The “mariscada” (seafood) was followed by strawberries & cream! Yes, Juan´s favorite dessert. We also offered popsicles: mango with chili, watermelon mojito and more original flavors. Paty was very happy doing the coordination of this event and loved offering popsicles - especially to the grandchildren!
The best detail of the party was that the fireworks were coordinated with another song: “Dream a Little dream of me”, of The Mammas and The Pappas, which Juan loves!
But the most magical moment was when all the family gathered together to release the wish lanterns … inspiring words were written in each one of them: dream, love, smile, hope… it was an unforgettable moment at a party planned to pamper and indulge Juan with every detail. We were so happy of being part of this celebration!
