(continues from laid-back Moroccan-style welcome party)
The following day, the wedding ceremony took place on a grassy path by the sea under a Chuppah braided with vine-like branches, white Ranunculus, succulent and orchids. A white petal runner separated the neat rows of pristine white benches accented with sand colored cushions. Guests were welcomed with a personalized sign in a vintage-style frame while a pianist played.
For the reception, also on the beach, assorted tables and chairs were set with an eclectic mixture of French and Thonet-style chairs in natural and white wood to create a relaxed but stylish setting.
Dinner was catered by Casianos and The Baja Express, a funky food truck, offered the “late night snacks”. The tables were set with gold-rimmed glass chargers and navy blue edged menus. The centerpieces of assorted white flowers and greenery in an array of containers on blue and white runners intertwined with blue glass jars and votives created charming vignettes. Streetlights and candles in glass candleholders cast a soft glow over the guests as the sun set behind the tall palm trees.
For after-dinner, lounges were placed directly on the sand. Billowing beige curtains draped on wooden frames created intimate cabana-style seating outfitted with off-white upholstered sofas, benches, and periwinkle blue stools around elegant glass tables edged in brass. Assorted votives, flowers, vintage suitcases and books, blue, ivory and sand colored cushions enhanced the charming décor.
Several live bands provided the night’s entertainment as guests danced the night away on the wooden floor stenciled with a compass. A great time was had by all!
