First Holy Communion is an essential rite of passage in a young Catholic’s life. It is one of the three of the Sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Church along with Baptism and Confirmation. At this significant event a child will, for the first time, receive Jesus—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—in the Blessed Sacrament, usually along with many other children their age. First Holy Communion is an important event in a family's life and one that the entire family prepares for and celebrates.
Planning the First Holy Communion is thus not only about the event itself, but also about preparing the guest list, the invitations, the gifts, the outfit, the ceremony, the food, and the festivities.
For Fabian, we planned his First Holy Communion at Acre Baja, a beautiful tropical oasis in Los Cabos. The ceremony was held on a private terrace surrounded by lush palm trees, and the dinner and celebrations were held at the mango orchard. We used contemporary furniture in black and white, which was matched with natural linens in grey, beautiful tablescape with clean lines, our own designed chairs, and lovely vintage-style details. The setup was contrasted perfectly by handmade floor tiles and rich mango trees.
Family, friends, and beloved guests came to celebrate Fabian from all over Mexico, as well as from the United States. After the ceremony, we invited the guests to enjoy the dinner with live music, and the kids soon after the dinner enjoyed a large play-area with several fun games. The joy and laughter continued late into the night under a starry sky at Acre in Los Cabos.
It was a pleasure organizing Fabian's First Holy Communion at Acre, and we look forward to more celebrations together.
